One of our founding principles we established here at Gamma Ray Media is to participate in charitable contributions. As a small company trying to carve out our name in the world, we made a promise to try to give back however we can as we continue to grow. We believe in not only giving back to our community, but we also hope to make a small impact on a larger scale and raise awareness in the process. Charity can come in many forms but typically through monetary donation or time as a volunteer. Both of which we were lacking, so we decided to give what we could and hopefully bring awareness to a cause we feel strongly about.
So if you can’t give a monetary donation and you can’t give time what can you do? Well, it turns out you can give hair. Yes, hair. At www.locksoflove.org you can help kids by donating, yep you guessed it…. your ponytails!
With any type of charity or donation, most start small and grow over time, and while we were only able to donate seven ponytails, we do feel like we made a difference however small it may be.

Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. We meet a unique need for children by using donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics. Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure. The prostheses we provide help to restore their self-esteem and their confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers.
